Congratulations, Laurie, you sound really happy and I know you'll scare those young, bright-eyed writers half to death. They're probably still drinking some of that grain alcohol and won't know what to think about a smart, accomplished woman like you.

Enjoy every minute of this!

Pst...I'm the mysterious woman from Dayton, Ohio in the picture you took with me and Jen Lemen at BlogHer!

I found your blog through the photo on Flickr and am so glad I did :-)

I'm so happy to hear of your decision to return to school. And also to know the Universe is conspiring to support your efforts to do so. What a great thing!

Keep living from your authentic self. Don't let the negative Nancies get you down. I applaud you and could probably live vicariously through your current experience because I've considered a similar path myself (also grateful the drinking grain alcohol punch from a garbage can in a frat house days are behind me!).

Perhaps I'll celebrate with you by going out to buy some school supplies! I'm such a sucker for those this time of year, even though classroom lectures are not on my agenda right now :-0

All My Best,
Lisa

Once again, you've written a post that takes my breath away. Good luck (though you don't need it)and contact me about my sabbatical plans for next fall. We really need to talk!

Joanna - thank you! When the registration madness goes away we will have to make the time.

Lisa - Thanks for finding me! I am excited to see someone here from Dayton. I hope you will go out and buy some great pens. I hope to hear from you again.

Jen...Thank you to you, too. I'm hoping to go undercover for awhile, but I never hide my age, so if it's not a secret, that's cool too. I like to think it's an example of it never being too late to change your path.

You all are so nice to be so supportive. I've always wanted to build a community for myself through the written word, and blogging does that for me. School will just be the icing on the cake.

Congratulations on your new adventure! I'm a journalism gal too. I graduated in 04 from Penn State, and I completely feel the same way on a lot of things you said. No matter what happens, you are where you are for a reason, it will all work out. Just stay away from frat parties! Haha just kidding.

Congratulations! I'm so happy for you. It sounds like a wonderful adventure. Enjoy the ride. One of these days I want to go back to school, too... you can let me benefit from your experience about how to do it for free. Way, way, cool!

Congratualtions!!!
You do not need the education, you were always a good writer, but go for it. Take no prisoners.
This sound sliek a grand adventure. Good luck!!
