My BlogHer post is up. I was really torn this week on topics. Extended family is such a broad subject...but I think this one works for the new semester starting and the fact that I have a child I once HELD IN MY ARMS beginning as a freshman. Lord.
He was delivered to Virginia Tech this weekend. I know he'll be safe. No worries. It's a pretty heavy place to be right now, but he's just the chill type of guy to handle it.
He's chill enough, in fact, to think he can make it through his freshman year without a Facebook page. This scandalized our cousin the Tech sophomore sufficiently enough to inspire her to adopt him as her project. She intends, she tells me, to drag him kicking and screaming into the southern Virginia social whirl. Check back next May, I say. (And it's making my Free State heart beat just a little bit fast, but truly, I say - none of my damned business.)
