I guest-posted over at Karen's site yesterday. I wrote about trying to remember to have a little bit of fun amidst all of these toils and snares, for God's sake.
I'm still thinking about it, because you know I'm never sure whether I'm getting it right or not (not the fun part...the expression part. Or maybe the fun part too. And maybe this is why I have to write about trying to have fun. I'll shut up.)
Elsewhere, I'm on an immediate and a slightly less immediate deadline and I feel awkward and uncomfortable about that, although I know this is all totally doable. I'm also strangely aggravated by the elfin Chinese gymnasts and actually care whether or not Michael Phelps wins 800 medals, so I think this means I've been sniffing a little too much of the Olympic glue (really, NBC? Al Trautwig on gymnastics? Where did you find that negative jerk?)
And yes, this too shall pass, but that phrase is annoying me so I'm avoiding it. And oh hey, I got paid! I have more than free dollars, finally, and that's good. So I'm also looking forward to doing absolutely jack nothing this weekend but sitting around and oh, maybe having some wine (shocker) and uploading about 1,000 photos replete with highly descriptive tags. Seriously. Right now, that's my kind of fun, my lame, strange, mildly anti-social kind of fun. I'm clearly saving the real throwdown for 2009. Watch out.
Oh, ps, speaking of Olympics and glue: LOLBush does Beijing, courtesy of the UK Guardian (because our reputation in the international press just doesn't get much lower.)
