Wonderful post, Laurie. I totally get your decision-making conundrum. Taking care of a child on your own is a big-big deal that should never be taken lightly.

Wow. You are amazing.

I'm an only child for 42 years and never wanted a sibling, with the exception of a week during 1976 when I wanted an older brother and my mother told me to "forget about it."But then you go and write something like this.

Give me your sister and while you're at it, I want your cousin too.

What a fantastic, insightful post. I think a lot of us (myself included) have spent too many years in 'train wrecks'...

I've spent my whole life, in a way, making sure there's someone around who might be willing to pick up the pieces if I fall apart. This is part of why if I become your friend, I'm probably not going to ever stop. It's really all selfish.

Zan - *I know right?* People don't always get it.

Thanks, Becky - backatcha.

Devra, you can share, we're very friendly. :)

Thanks Ann.

you know what, you will figure it out. There is no rule that says you have to figure it out now.

Beautiful post.
