Because the main page has turned into more of a catch-all for whatever I might be thinking or feeling on any given day, I thought I'd make my own space here for the stuff I really, really just want to write...with no attention paid to links or current events or whatever I've been cramming into my posts there. I'm having a blast with it, but the point originally was to write...to have a repository for the stuff I'm working on, because I seem to benefit from the accountability of putting it on this site. I've been working on some stuff but not posting it, and I think it's probably time to work some of that out on here.
I'm loving the main blog, I'm having more fun with it than I thought possible, but it's not as focused as I thought it would be in the beginning. And that's fine, because I think about and learn about so many things that interest me on a daily basis, that it's okay to get it all out there. But here I'd like to be more specialized. When I finally get around to building up the site with the domain name and everything - when I can afford to spend the time and money to get someone to help me design it, because I'm woefully inadequate in that area - I'll probably figure out a way to collapse this all into one site. But for now Typepad is doing the trick. It's fine. Maybe once the summer travels are over. I definitely want to do a dedicated photoblog too, once I get the camera next month. I cannot WAIT for that. I'm getting more and more interested in photography as a means of storytelling. It's fascinating. And there are so many cool ways to display it all online - I guess I just want to be a part of the big party that's going on, because it's fun. Let the writing games begin.
